About Heptacare

At Heptacare, We Are Passionate About Our Work, Our Products, and Our Customers

We seek to enhance value through the supply of innovative and reliable Instrument Transformers. Founded in 1995, Heptacare manufactures instrument transformers for electric utility substations and high-energy industrial systems.

Our Legacy

Three Decades of Engineering Excellence

Heptacare manufactures instrument transformers for applications in electric utility substations and high-energy industrial systems. In 1995, Heptacare commenced the manufacturing and design of MV instrument transformers, and the range was extended to HV instrument transformers in 2005. Today we operate from two manufacturing units — Unit I at Meerut, 65 km from New Delhi, and Unit II at Kashipur, about 200 km from New Delhi — producing a diversified range covering MV products from 11 kV, Inductive Voltage Transformers up to 220 kV, Current Transformers up to 400 kV, and combined CT-PT units.

All units are tailored for specific applications — either to operate accurately for metering at steady state conditions, or to maintain reasonable accurate reading up to extreme fault conditions for protection systems. The company has supplied more than 1,25,000 units of MV instrument transformers and over 35,000 units of HV instrument transformers. Over the past decade, our products have withstood the test of time and have established performance in virtually all central and state power utilities across India.

All instrument transformers up to 220 kV ratings have been type-tested as per IEC/IS standards, including special tests such as multiple chopped impulse tests, seismic tests on all axes, and other special tests to meet the most stringent customer specifications. The company operates seven testing labs covering incoming raw material, intermediate, and final testing — with the Final Testing Lab accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) under ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the internationally recognised standard for laboratory testing.

Our Journey

Key Milestones

1995
MV Instrument Transformer Manufacturing
Founded Heptacare Power Industries at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Commenced design and manufacture of medium voltage current transformers and potential transformers for 11 kV–33 kV systems, serving state electricity boards and industrial clients across North India.
2005
Expansion to High Voltage — Up to 220 kV
Entered the HV instrument transformer segment, developing oil-filled CTs and PTs rated up to 220kV. This enabled Heptacare to supply directly to India’s national grid infrastructure and major EPC contractors including L&T, GE, and Siemens.
2009
Second Manufacturing Unit — Kashipur, Uttarakhand
Established a dedicated production facility in Kashipur, located 200 km from Delhi. The second unit doubled production capacity and enabled parallel manufacturing of MV and HV instrument transformers to meet growing demand across India.
2014
In-House Fabrication — Full Vertical Integration
Developed a captive fabrication unit for M.S. and S.S. tanks, achieving end-to-end quality control from raw material to finished product. Includes dedicated shot blasting and painting shop, eliminating dependency on external vendors for critical components.
2019
NABL Accredited 700 kV PD-Free Testing Laboratory
Set up an in-house testing laboratory accredited under IS/ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (NABL). The 700 kV Partial Discharge–free lab enables complete type testing, routine testing, and special tests — including impulse, seismic, and temperature rise tests — without dependence on external facilities.
2025
Forayed into CVTs and 400 kV Current Transformers
Extended the product portfolio with Capacitor Voltage Transformers (CVTs) and 400 kV class Current Transformers, taking Heptacare’s instrument transformer range to the highest transmission voltages on the Indian grid and broadening the offering to inter-regional and cross-border interconnection projects.
